Elayne Adamczyk Harrington / Temper-Mental MissElayneous
Elayne Adamczyk Harrington, also known as Temper-Mental MissElayneous, is a multidisciplinary artist, rapper, and art educator whose work spans institutional critique, hip-hop, punk, and socially engaged practice. Rooted in Dublin’s working-class culture, she explores themes of power, identity, and resistance through visual art, music, and education.
With a BA in Fine Art (Sculpture & Expanded Practice with Critical Cultures) and a Professional Masters in Art & Design Education from NCAD (Dublin) and UAP (Poznań), Elayne brings a radical ethos to her dual roles as a practising artist and teacher. She currently teaches in a DEIS (Delivering Equality of Education in Schools) setting, empowering young people through creative expression and critical engagement. Her teaching reflects her belief in the transformative power of education, blending biblical principles with a punk-inspired ethos of liberation and defiance.
As Temper-Mental MissElayneous, Elayne has carved out a unique space in Ireland’s hip-hop and spoken-word scenes. Writing her first poem at age 9 and discovering hip-hop shortly after, she fused it with her first love—punk—creating a style that’s fiercely independent and unapologetically raw. Adopting the name 'Temper-Mental' at 14 and adding 'MissElayneous' at 19, she built a career on unrelenting lyrics, complex rap patterns, and an anarcho-punk spirit.
In 2014, she teamed up with turntablist DJ FunkTom to form TMM, a Celtic hip-hop duo that fuses beatboxing, scratching, bodhrán rhythms, and the energy of punk to create an explosively provocative live experience. Their music draws from underground producers and pushes boundaries with aggressive yet playful energy.
Today, Elayne continues to balance her life as a visual artist, rapper, and educator. Her socially engaged practice critiques systems of power while celebrating the resilience of working-class culture. Whether through rap, visual art, or teaching, she remains deeply committed to empowering others and challenging norms, embodying the intersection of hip-hop, punk, and creative liberation.
