2ND YEAR ART & DESIGN UNIT

Video samples of online teaching for 2nd years of Trinity Comprehensive Ballymun

Lesson 4 of Boxing Art & Design Unit

Looking at line, shape and colour today for a drawing and colouring task for our 'Fight for Your Right' unit. Draw the boxer's belt first, use pencil. Draw a circle for the belt buckle and use rectangular shapes for the belt straps. Colour in with markers or colouring pencils. If you don't have these you can use biros, just as I have done. Look at the techniques I demonstrate for colouring in. It creates a very nice textured effect.

Poster Planning

Working from a secondary source. Using a white chalk pastel to create a base line drawing for our poster for our 'Fight for You Right' poster design project on the theme of boxing (Junior visual art unit of learning).

Poster Development

Working on text and colour for our poster design on the theme of 'Fight for Your Right' and Boxing.

Lesson 5 of Boxing Art & Design Unit

Today we revised work from the last lesson, which looked at line, shape and colour. We talked about our theme and looked at the boxing subject matter in the work of Pop artist Andy Warhol (you will remember him from our collage unit before Christmas). Then we were introduced to poster types and designs and we learnt about font and typography.  We will use 'Boxing' typography created by Argentinian designer Tano Veron for today's boxing belt font and symbol exercise (due this evening).  And finally, we covered the line drawing from a primary source work which should be completed for Wednesday.
