An event organised as part of the graduation phases of my BA studies at NCAD as well as a continuation of the mentorship from clown master and pedagogue Jef Johnson since. Johnson arrived in Dublin directly from Spain where he was hosted at Artmosfera to conduct a week of masterclasses. My role was to shadow Jef and document the events and workshops Granen. His lecture and performance for the ART & CLOWNING lecture series at the Rupert Guinness lecture theatre preceded guest tutorials with graduating SEP students and 3 workshops open to NCAD students and the public. Jef was booked to perform and teach in Tipperary for the Amadán Festival of Clowning in Nenagh Arts Centre from 10th-12th May, 2019.
An excerpt of my observations of Jef Johnson's practice and method of teaching his students (Day 2).
Jef Johnson lecturing and guiding students/participants at Artmosfera during a workshop week with Johnny Melville held in Artmosfera in Grañen, Spain from April 14th to 21st, 2019.
